Adventures by Bike

This is a collection of rides that I think are especially cool – adventures by bike.  Usually featuring big distances, epic terrain and great mates – the sort of rides that make up the inspiration of a boring day at work, or a cold winter’s night.

2010 Kiwi Brevet – an 1100km self-supported dirt Brevet around New Zealand’s beautiful South Island – with plenty of beauty, but some tremendous challenges.

The Canberra to Coast 200 – or C2C200 – a unique variation on the tried-and-true Canberra to the Coast format – turned into a 200km MTB race, with plenty of fantastic, varied scenery, amazing singletrack, leg-breaking climbs and exhilerating descents.  I run this as a “race” on a semi-regular basis.

Canberra to Jervis Bay via the Old Wool Road – a cool, historic and fast road ride through back-country roads to Jervis Bay.

Canberra to Robertson – another fast and flat road ride that has varying scenery, and ends with views of the coast and pies:

Wee Jasper 100 – A super hilly but scenic 100km jaunt between Uriarra and Wee Jasper and back.
